Short trips also prevent the DC-DC converter from fully recharging the 12V battery from the high-voltage pack.
Symptoms include a dead battery after a few days to a week of sitting, no-start conditions, warning lights, and “ghost” diagnostic codes. Dealers have issued technical service bulletins (including T-SB-0021-20 and T-SB-0089-21) for DCM software updates.
