Chevrolet Silverado Truck Vibration

FREE CONSULTATION ON YOUR CHEVY SILVERADO VIBRATION CONCERN

2015 Chevrolet Silverado trucks have a vibration problem.  The trucks are 6-cylinders, and some suggest a feature called “active fuel management” caused the engine to run erratically on 4 cylinders to achieve  fuel efficiency.    GM has issued service bulletins on the subject, including “PI1354C: Information on Vibration Analysis and Diagnostic” and PIP5228A.  We have set forth reports filed with the NHTSA about the problem.

Owners may be entitled to compensation for repair costs, inconvenience, and other damages.

SUMMARY:

“The trucks have a vibration that is felt in the steering wheel, floor, seats, accelerator and brake pedals etc. while driving.  The major consensus is that the worst is 76 mph, yet it is felt to a lesser degree at any speed, with some being worse than others.  There are a large number of trucks with this issue, yet General Motors refuses to do anything about it.  It began within a couple weeks of purchasing my truck.  I found people first reporting the issue in 2015, and more recently it continues with the 2015 and 2016 model years.”

SUMMARY:

“I purchased a brand new 2015 Silverado on 7/24/15 and at about 700 miles or so I noticed a bad vibration as the truck was in motion, took it back to the dealer cause I was very upset it being a $56,000.00 truck and all.  They wanted me to leave the truck overnight and did not offer any vehicle to drive so I did not leave it with them.  So I took the truck to Ratfield Tire and had the tires balanced, all 4 tires were out of balance, which I paid for out of pocket myself not GM…  This did not fix the problem of the severe vibration going down the road.  I then took the truck to another dealer for the vibration, they test drove it and confirmed the vibration, did a road force balance on all 4 wheels, then replaced all tires, this also has not fixed the problem, the truck is still vibrating, the entire seat just shakes, I am presently waiting on another appointment with dealer.  The service manager told me himself after replacing all 4 tires that it felt like a balance issue inside the motor which there is no fix, now that is crazy… I feel that this truck should be replaced or my money back entirely.  The truck only has a little over 2000 miles cause it makes me sick to drive it…”

Chevrolet Tahoe, Silverado, and Suburban Air Conditioning Problem

Are you having problems with your Chevy Tahoe, Silverado, or Suburban A/C system?  You may be entitled to compensation.

1. Typical Problems with the Air-Conditioning System

car air conditioning

Owners of the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe 2014-17 have experienced multiple problems with the air-conditioning system. A class action has been filed and owners may be entitled to compensation. The problems have included leaking condensor, blowing hot air,

The diagnosis has included,
* Leaking condenser with replacement needed,
* Faulty hose,
* Air-conditioning additive.

Despite systemic problems, the manufacturer has periodically refused to pay for the repair.

2. Inconvenience

Chevrolet Silverado owners have been deprived for weeks or even months of a functioning AC System. Other consequences may include engine stalling because the AC System’s compressor is powered by the engine’s accessory drive belt.

3. Causes

One claim explains, automotive AC systems, including the AC Systems in Class Vehicles, are “closed loop” systems that circulate a gaseous refrigerant to cool vehicle cabins. When operating as intended, AC systems should not consume refrigerant or allow it to escape the system. Thus, a vehicle’s AC system will cease to produce cold air only if a system component ceases to function properly, or if the system develops a leak that allows the refrigerant to escape. See General Motor Air-Conditioning Complaint.

4. Claims

As the class action complaint says, “GM was and remains under a continuing duty to disclose to Plaintiffs and the members of the Class the true character, quality and nature of the Class Vehicles, that the Defect results from a poor design and/or failures in the manufacturing process, will require costly repairs, poses safety concerns, and diminishes the resale value of the Class Vehicles, in addition to causing Class members to pay out of pocket to repair their Vehicles once the Defect manifests. ”

Additionally, if the compressor seizes while the AC System is in operation, it may place excessive strain on the drive belt, and thereby the Vehicles’ drivetrain, which can result in engine problems.

This site contains material about laws, cases, and claims under the lemon law and other statutes.  We offer a free telephone consultation so please contact us if you are having problems with a defective vehicle.  Here is an overview.

1. Requirements under Lemon Law

“I think my car is a lemon.”  Many consumers have checked mileage and time periods but unfortunately there is more.   In practice, the law requires proof of a defect or problem — simply saying you are dissatisfied or worried about the car’s safety or reliability may not be enough.   In New Jersey administrative claims, an expert may be needed; otherwise, the manufacturer will presents its own representative to say the car is performing within specifications, no codes display, and the problems alleged involve characteristics of the car.   If the problem has been fixed, the case will lose in the lemon law administrative court and should be settled or filed elsewhere.

2.  Consumer Fraud and Other Claims

“I have a defective car, but checked and I don’t meet lemon law guidelines.”  You may still have a claim because there are a number of laws that can apply.  The New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act prohibits deception, fraud, and unconscionable conduct.  Express warranty claims involve the failure of the company to perform the warranty it provided.  Unless a car was sold as-is, there is an implied warranty that the car is reasonably fit.
